Rothrock

We introduced Chillie to Rothrock on Sunday. She wanted to see what the terrain would be for the Trans Sylvania TV Epic next May and she'd never been to Rothrock? We told her to be ready to climb. And climb. And climb some more. We did a modified section of one of the stages that included Tussey Ridge Trail. Donna wanted redemption on it since her first foray didn't go so well. She got it! Had a lot more fun this time. For me, it was nice to get back there and remember some really great people and rides from college.
Jill really enjoyed the ride and said she needed to get out more. I can relate. Riding the same-old, same-old all the time tends to dull the senses and blunt the desire to swing a leg over the bike. The trips we've been doing this fall are helping to fan the flame again.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt....that 1) you didn't want to see me two weekends in a row, 2) you know my shoulder is too lame to hold up in Rothrock right now, and 3) I was away anyhow.....but lemme know when you're in State College fool!

Yeah--next time. When you're all healed up and stuff. I was only thinking of your wellbeing, man.

Thanks for the "tour" Brett! Rothrock is my new favorite place to ride. I'm still amazed at the size -- Rattling Creek is a tiny little spec in comparison. I already forwarned Rick I'll be heading north this winter to ride. He may join in a ride or two (if there's easy loops). I'm taking him on the 1st stage of the TSE proglogue - that looks easy enough for him. Yes, the flame is fanned! Nice to have the fire going again.

Love the riding pics. Whatcha shooting these days on trail and what do you carry it in? Just tuck it in the Camelbak?

I'm getting the mtn bike itch again and starting to feel the need. (also feeling the need for a small camera to take along when I go).

You guys night riding in groups up on your mountain this fall/winter?

hey, ed!

using a panasonic lumix TS-2. it's stupid-resistant. have a pack now with pockets built into the waistbelt so it's much easier to use the camera.

if you want to night ride, email us. we'll more than likely fit your schedule!
