Last night's ride was so nice, I thought I would write about it. Before the ride Steph Mader and I went for a 2 mile run from the house as a little warm up in preparation for the Capital City Challenge Adventure Race in September. At 6:05 the Perry County contingent showed up and bodies and bikes poured out of Ray Egolf's Volkswagon Van---all 5 of them: Dave Clay, Larry, Keith and Brad. SO-Chaux was represented as well by Larry Camp and Jody Eberly.
The 10 of us started out up Ridge to Woodrow. Headed through that place, down LC/MCR/STH to the Turkey clearing. Cut across to the beautiful trail down to that sweet singletrack to BB and up to Dead Womans Highway. Down DWH to Grave's...the boys did the upper and Steph and I did the lower and met up at the end at 233. Cross back over to the home side and take the other sweet singletrack to Woodrow, then take the usual trails back up to the top. Two and a half hours of fun!
There was a cool breeze on top of the mountain--quite unusual for the middle of July!
We enjoyed chili and beers on the deck afterwards. Lovely.
