Glasgow

We made it to Glasgow (Glazz Go) finally and it is 11:40 here and 6:40 at home and on our internal clocks. Flight was ok---didn't sleep for very long. Once we got here and all found each other, we took a taxi to the Kelvingrove Hotel and set out on a journey to find some good hot breakfast and coffee! With our bellies full, we walked around a bit to try to kill some time before checking in, but we were just told it won't be until about 2pm until we can get in, so I think we may head to the Kelvingrove Museum about 2 blocks away.

Tonight the plan is "Mother Earth" for dinner, supposedly a really good Indian restaurant about 2 blocks the other way from our hotel.

Weather is cloudy and cool---IT'S WONDERFUL!!

No pics right now--can't figure out how to link to the WI-FI yet...

Really Long Bike Rides

on Memorial Day, we had the privelege of marking
stage 3 of the Trans Sylvania Epic
a seven day stage race that is happening this week
based out of the Seven Mountains Boy Scout Camp

45 miles in length
should we drive-mark-ride-mark
or ride it all?
the decision was made
we ride

we started after a very hearty breakfast at camp
9:30 am which in hindsight was too late
very warm and muggy started with atv worn singletrack
reminiscent of parts of 3 mile

finally got to fire road sections
then the climbing began
hit Coburn in the middle of the day
made a mistake of getting "turkey club"
sandwiches from some toothless people
running a little store

they were nice though
let us use their sign to
staple arrows to

with bellies too full
and heat too much
the ride got really hard

during the fisherman's path
went into the mental cave that you
have to talk yourself through

hit really huge climbs
and was rewarded on the
climb out of Poe Paddy SP
with an awesome view of Coburn
and surrounding valley

it was a great day
spent with my husband
i hope there are lots more
